Heidi

Heidi is a sweet adult female Hound/Beagle mix who weighs about medium. She came to us as a stray and, after a few baths, a good meal, and a soft bed, she's starting to settle in. Heidi isn't a fan of the shelter environment and shows some anxiety, but we can't say we blame her! She enjoys spending time with us in the office or out in the yard for a while. Heidi has a big smile and always wants to hold your hand. If she had her way, you'd be holding her hand and giving her lots of pets. She has been around other dogs and doesn't mind their company, but she would prefer not to share her food, bed, toys, or treats. We suspect she may not have had her own things before, so she's currently guarding them to protect them. Heidi doesn't have the boundless energy of a young puppy; she'd be happy to just hang out with someone and go for occasional walks. She hasn't met a stranger yet and absolutely loves human attention.

Ideal Home

Heidi would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, affectionate friend. She would prefer a home where she doesn't have to share her cherished belongings.

Ongoing Health

Heidi is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Heidi is still working on resource guarding (food, bed, toys/treats) due to her past experiences. With patience and understanding, she can learn to feel more secure.
