Hi, my name is Ellie! I'm a beautiful girl inside and out with so much love to give my forever family. I've really blossomed since coming to live with my foster mom, and I'm a very curious girl who loves to explore! I'm also very well-behaved and completely house-trained. If I could spend all day snuggled on your lap, I'd be in heaven – add a cozy blanket, and I'll never leave your side! I absolutely adore humans.
I was rescued by Save-A-Bull with a broken foot and was in rough shape. Because of that, I'm a little protective of my foot, but I'll now let my foster mom rub it and apply oil to keep my paws soft. My foot is fully healed, and I love to run, jump, zoomie in the yard, and play in the snow! You'd only know I had an injury when I get a little stiff at night. I'm a smart cookie and know commands like sit, kennel, stay, wait, no, and shake!
Ideal Home
I do not enjoy the company of other dogs, so walks can be a bit anxious for me, leading to some barking. My foster mom uses a harness and slip leash to ensure my safety. With some guidance and maybe a treat, I can be redirected. If I'm having a particularly difficult time with a dog, we'll turn around and decompress. I love walks, so I hope my new home will continue working on this with me so I can keep enjoying my favorite activity: exploring the world with my humans! I don't live with kids, but my foster mom thinks I'd do well with slightly older children.
Ongoing Health
My foot was previously broken but has fully healed. I may experience a little stiffness at night.
Training & Support
I get a little anxious and bark when I encounter other dogs on walks. We are working on redirecting my attention and decompressing when needed. I also don't love it when my humans leave me, and we are continuing to work on crate training to keep me safe. This adjustment period will take time as I settle into my new forever home, but my foster mom assures me I'm worth it because I truly am the best girl!
