Jax

Jax is a big, goofy, and lovable Ridgeback who is extremely nervous and sensitive to his environment. He needs an experienced owner who understands the unique needs of this breed. He does not do well with other dogs, especially in a confined space. With time, patience, and understanding, Jax may eventually be able to accept other dogs in the right home. His current caretakers have learned that traditional training methods can be counterproductive for Ridgebacks, and they are happy to share their knowledge on what training approaches have proven most effective for Jax.

Ideal Home

Jax would thrive in a home that can provide a calm and stable environment. Due to his sensitivities and issues with other dogs, he would do best as the only pet in the household. He is not recommended for homes with children under 8 years old or children 8 and up.

Jax has been neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Jax is house-trained. His current caretakers have extensive knowledge of his behavior and training needs and will provide adopters with a comprehensive guide to the training methods that work best for him. They emphasize that harsh or overly passive training methods can yield negative results, so patience and understanding are key.
