Layla the Dog Lovin Doll

Meet Layla! She's a stunning 5-year-old pup with a gorgeous, light brown coat, big ears that are perfect for scritches, and a heart brimming with love, just waiting to share it with her forever family. We suspect she might be a Shepherd-Pitty mix, but one thing is certain: she's one of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet. Layla can be a little shy when she first meets new people, taking her time to warm up. However, once she trusts you, her tail starts wagging, her eyes sparkle, and she showers you with quiet, devoted affection. She's a gentle girl who loves to curl up beside you, soak in pets, and remind you that love doesn't always need words.

Layla is a doggy superstar and truly thrives with canine companionship. She's social, friendly, and polite with other dogs, happily snuggling, chilling, or walking side-by-side with a doggy buddy. An ideal companion for Layla would be a calm, aloof male dog who can help her feel safe and confident, offering the friendship she adores. She's not looking for a boisterous playmate, but rather a best friend for life. Layla is also cat-tolerant and will give kitties their space while coexisting peacefully. She would likely do best with older children, around 8 years and up, due to her sensitivity to new people and touch. If your household has younger children, a meet-and-greet can help determine if Layla is comfortable.

Ideal Home

Layla is happiest in a home where she can decompress, feel safe, and let her personality shine at her own pace. She would do best in a calm home with older children or adults who appreciate slow snuggles, soft pets, and peaceful companionship. Her happiness truly depends on having a fellow pup to lean on, so a resident dog is a must.

Ongoing Health

Layla is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP vaccination with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. She has also been spayed and received a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. A health certificate deeming her healthy for travel is included.

Training & Support

Layla may need a little extra confidence when exploring new places on leash, but she will be a quiet, loving companion once settled. We assess every animal with trainers on staff, modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking.

Transporation

Layla is currently located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24-hour care. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You will have the opportunity to track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Please note there is an $87 surcharge for transportation due to rising costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
