Kane is a handsome 16-month-old Great Dane who weighs about 90 pounds. He's a playful pup who loves to run, chase balls, and "de-fluff" his toys! Kane also really enjoys getting attention from his favorite people. He's neutered, up-to-date on his shots, and was adopted as a puppy.
Ideal Home
Kane would do best in a home with a large, fenced-in backyard where he can really stretch his legs and run to his heart's content. His current family can't meet his energy needs, so someone who doesn't mind taking him to places where he can run freely would also be a great fit. While he's generally good with kids, it's recommended he not be in a home with small children. He could potentially do well as an only dog but has always lived with canine siblings. Kane would thrive with a family who has the resources and patience to provide him with the specialized training he deserves, understanding his triggers and offering him kindness and love.
Ongoing Health
Kane is currently in good health with no known issues. Vet records are available.
Training & Support
Kane is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. He knows commands such as "sit," "down," "stay," and "wait," and has been taught not to go through doors unless given a release command. However, Kane does exhibit some aggression. Triggers include getting too hyper, anticipating punishment for misbehavior, unfamiliar situations, and strangers (especially men). He can sometimes guard toys over other dogs. His current owner is unsure how to properly care for an aggressive dog, which is why Kane is being rehomed. He also experiences some anxiety when left alone. Sudden movements and having his feet touched are things he dislikes. He is not a fan of car rides.
