Mona

Meet Mona! This gorgeous 2-year-old Mountain Cur mix is a sweet, smart, and active girl who was surrendered to us with other dogs through no fault of her own. Her previous owner fell on hard times, and Mona is now settling into her new life, learning to be a real dog and soaking up all the love. She's an energetic goofball who is completely obsessed with stuffed toys! Mona is independent in a good way; she enjoys some affection but is also happy doing her own thing. She walks well on a leash and is very eager to sniff everything. Mona did wonderfully sitting at a restaurant with volunteers, and though she had moments of wanting to greet people and other dogs, she was a good listener when asked to come back and settle. We promised Mona that the rest of her life will be the best of her life. Could that be with you?

Training & Support

Mona is still learning, but her volunteers noted she is a good listener. She enjoys exploring the world through scents and may need gentle redirection when encountering new sights and sounds.

Transportation

Mona is located in South Carolina and is transported to the Northeast weekly. Applicants not located along the East Coast should be willing to travel to pick up their pet. We provide local or virtual meet-and-greets with an application on file.
