Meet George and Piper, a bonded pair looking for their forever home together! George is a majestic three-year-old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, weighing in at a substantial 112 pounds. Piper is a vibrant two-year-old Pharaoh Hound/American Pitbull Terrier mix, a more petite 31 pounds of pure joy. They are currently in Hickory, NC. George, with his quiet strength and soulful eyes, offers a grounding presence, while Piper, with her boundless energy and affectionate nature, brings a spark of sunshine. They have formed a beautiful bond, finding comfort and companionship in each other.
Ideal Home
George and Piper thrive together and need a home that can accommodate both their personalities. George requires a calm, structured environment with plenty of room to roam and feel secure. He is not suited for apartments or small condos. While Piper is friendly with children and other dogs, George's sensitive nature means he needs a guardian who understands that trust is built over time. Slow introductions are recommended for cats and small animals. Piper can be sensitive to loud noises and would appreciate a cozy retreat during thunderstorms or fireworks.
Ongoing Health
George had one fear-based bite incident during a meet-and-greet when a visitor moved too quickly into his space and patted his head, a sensitive area for him. In a separate instance, he snapped (without making contact) when a new person leaned in face-to-face in an unfamiliar environment. A professional trainer evaluated George and confirmed he is not aggressive but a sensitive dog. His compassionate trainers are offering support with video or phone consultations for his future family.
Training & Support
George is house-trained, leash-savvy, and knows commands like sit, down, shake, easy, and stay. He responds well to predictability and gentle guidance. Piper is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows sit, down, and stay. She enjoys activity but is also content to relax. Both dogs rely on each other for comfort and support.
