About Jasper

Jasper is a young, energetic boy born in June 2019. He's a big dog with a big heart and a big need for a confident owner who can help him learn some boundaries. Jasper came to us because he and his canine brother didn't see eye-to-eye, which led to some escape-artist tendencies. He's incredibly enthusiastic about meeting people and loves to offer big hugs, but the volunteers are working with him on keeping all four paws on the floor and waiting for an invitation to snuggle. He's very food motivated, which is a great asset for training!

Ideal Home

Jasper needs a home that is completely cat-free and small animal-free, as he doesn't trust them. He also does best as the only dog, especially avoiding male dogs, as he can be dominant. He'd thrive in a home with very confident owners who have experience with independent-thinking large breeds. A fenced-in yard, at least four feet high, is a must. He's not suited for city living and needs an owner committed to ongoing training.
