Peggy

Peggy is a 2-year-old, 60 lb spayed female Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare! She arrived at the shelter as part of a large group of dogs who had not had the best start in life. Peggy, in particular, was busy being a fantastic momma to a litter of puppies and has now earned her chance at a new, wonderful life. Despite a challenging past, Peggy is proving to be incredibly sweet-tempered, affectionate, and a joy to handle. She has a gorgeous golden coat and gentle eyes that will melt your heart. She enjoys playful games of tag and would love to be your new best friend.

Ideal Home

Peggy would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of attention and an active lifestyle. She's athletic and intelligent, just like her Malinois heritage suggests, and needs mental and physical stimulation to be her happiest self. Because of her breed mix, she will do best in a home without cats. A meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.

Ongoing Health

Peggy arrived a bit undernourished but has been receiving good care at the shelter. She has no known ongoing health conditions at this time.

Training & Support

Peggy pulls a bit on the leash during walks, likely out of sheer excitement, and would benefit from some additional training to help her learn to walk more calmly. She also doesn't quite grasp the game of fetch yet, but loves to play! She keeps her kennel area tidy, which may indicate she'll be easy to house train.
