Cedar is a sweet, intelligent dog who thrives on routine, structure, and calm companionship. If you enjoy short walks close to home, belly rubs, and a good game of tug-of-war, Cedar could be a wonderful match. He has been diagnosed with bowed legs, which can cause knee discomfort, so maintaining a healthy weight and providing occasional anti-inflammatory support helps keep him comfortable. Despite this, Cedar still enjoys playtime and has plenty of personality — his physical limitations don’t stop him from having fun. Mental enrichment is where Cedar truly shines. He loves obedience training and food puzzles, and he already knows and enthusiastically performs 10+ commands. He is crate trained, potty trained, uses a dog door, and does best with a predictable daily routine. Cedar can be shy around new people and may take some time to warm up, but with patience he becomes deeply loyal and affectionate. He can be anxious when away from home and needs time to adjust to changes, so a calm, confident adopter who can provide steady guidance will help him succeed. If given the choice, Cedar would love to live with another dog who enjoys wrestling and playful interaction, as canine companionship brings out his playful side. Cedar is best suited for a home that values routine, understands gentle medical management, and appreciates a smart, sensitive dog who bonds deeply with his people. With patience and consistency, Cedar will reward his adopter with loyalty, humor, and affection.
