Meet Norman!
Norman is a snuggly, four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs 73 pounds. He's a gentle, goofy soul nicknamed the "velvet hippo" who lives for cuddles, comfy dog beds, and quality time with his people. Norman is a classic couch potato with a silly streak, often flopping onto his back mid-snuggle to flash you his best "aren't I adorable?" grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs top his list of favorite things, and he absolutely shines when given love and structure. His routine is flexible, and he's happy as long as he's got someone to nap near and a little mental stimulation each day. Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands including "sit," "stay," "down," and "place," and he's currently mastering "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency. He’ll come with everything he needs to settle in: a crate with pad and cover, two dog beds, a dog cot, and his favorite toys. Norman is compatible with older, respectful kids and some dogs with slow introductions, and he’s eager to share his big heart with a loving, committed family.
Ideal Home
Norman does best living in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He is not a good fit for homes with small children.

Training & Support
Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands. He is currently mastering "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency. Continued obedience training and positive reinforcement will help him stay confident and successful on walks. His adoption includes four professional training sessions and a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to help him settle in. Norman is selective with both dogs and new people, and he’s shown reactivity in certain situations, needing careful introductions and continued guidance outside the home.
