Sully is a sweet and gentle soul with a heart full of love. He's a male Labrador Mix, approximately 3-4 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. Sully has a congenital hip condition, and unfortunately, surgery is not an option. This means he can't stand for long periods and needs a calm, low-activity lifestyle. Despite his condition, Sully absolutely loves car rides and behaves wonderfully, enjoying the scenery. He's very social and friendly, easily trusting people and enjoying the company of other dogs, though he's not overly fond of constant physical contact. Sully is an easygoing boy with a beautiful smile that makes him look like the happiest dog in the world. He is incredibly easy to love and will love his family just as deeply.
Ideal Home
Sully needs a peaceful home where he can rest comfortably, receive lots of affection, and live without the need for much exercise. He would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families should have a genuine intention to rescue a dog, an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals, and experience with or a willingness to hire a trainer for this intelligent dog. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must, as he is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Sully has a congenital hip condition, which prevents him from standing for long periods. Surgery is not an option for him. He has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, has been dewormed, microchipped, and received a 4DX test and certificate. He also has a negative heartworm test certificate and is on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra). A health certificate and vaccine booklet are available.
Training & Support
Sully is not house-trained. Given his background as a rescued animal, patience and understanding are crucial as he may have fears and anxieties and needs time to adapt to a new environment. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.
