Tamera Honey is a sweet, affectionate dog who absolutely adores people and wants to be as close to you as possible. She leans in for pets, melts into every touch, and makes every interaction feel like the highlight of her day. Her love is big, over-the-top, and all-in, just like you'd hope for in a Shepherd mix! She's amazing with kids, dog-friendly, and respectful of cats. Tamera is smart, eager to please, and knows many tricks, including sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak. She walks fairly nicely on a leash, only pulling occasionally out of excitement, and is easily refocused with gentle reminders. She's also crate trained and potty trained.
Ideal Home
Tamera would thrive in a semi-active home where she can enjoy neighborhood walks and adventures, but also appreciate quiet downtime with her family. A home with a backyard would be ideal for her to stretch her legs and relax in the sunshine. Apartment living would not be a good fit for Tamera.
Ongoing Health
Tamera is believed to be approximately 12 years old and weighs 58 lbs. As with any rescue, her exact age and breed mix cannot be guaranteed. She is a rescue dog and has received all necessary vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Tamera is a smart girl who is treat-motivated and eager to please. She already knows several tricks and her adopters will find training her to be a fun and rewarding experience. While she walks nicely on a leash, she may pull occasionally out of excitement, but responds well to gentle reminders. She is comfortable tandem walking with other dogs.

Tamera is located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT). Transport includes 24/7 care and real-time tracking. A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
