About Sleepy

Meet Sleepy, a smart and curious 5-month-old Blue Heeler puppy weighing about 16 pounds. Sleepy was rescued with his family and has been safely cared for, growing into an intelligent and playful pup ready for his forever home. He loves to observe his surroundings with his bright eyes before joining in on the fun. As a budding adventurer, Sleepy enjoys toys, games, and exploring. Being an active breed, he'll thrive in a home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation through training and puzzles. He's a social guy who gets along with other dogs and is comfortable around children, men, and women. With continued positive guidance and socialization, Sleepy is sure to become an incredible lifelong companion.

Ideal Home

Sleepy would do best in a home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. Adopters should have an open mind regarding the needs of rescued animals, understanding their journey and the importance of protection and education. Prior experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, as is a high level of tolerance and patience for a rescued puppy.

Ongoing Health

Sleepy has undergone a comprehensive health protocol including:

  • Spay/Neuter
  • DHPPI Vaccine
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Bordetella Vaccine
  • Deworming
  • Negative Heartworm Test
  • Health Certificate
  • Vaccines booklet

Training & Support

Sleepy is not yet house-trained. The rescue team puts a lot of effort into rehabbing the health of their rescued pets, which includes numerous vet visits for vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, disease treatment, and emotional rehabilitation. Due to the large number of foster pets, house-training each one individually is not always feasible. We provide thorough instructions on how to decompress and integrate your new dog into your home, and we emphasize the importance of open communication with our team throughout this process.

Application Details:

Applications start by contacting us through Wags. You will need to complete our online application, which aims to pair you with the perfect dog for your lifestyle and family dynamic. Following application review, a phone/email interview will be scheduled. A home check (in-person or virtual) will be conducted, followed by a virtual meet-and-greet. A trial adoption period with clear instructions for integration and communication with our team is also part of the process.

Transportation

Sleepy is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas. He is ready to travel and can be transported to the East Coast and the Pacific Northwest if adopted. A transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, covers the service provided by a transport company.
