Meet Zeke! This handsome 3-year-old American Akita is looking for a home that understands and respects his breed. Zeke isn't one for instant friendships; he likes to take his time getting to know new people, especially men. You won't win him over with a quick belly rub! The key to Zeke's heart is consistency and patience. He is very food-motivated, so participating in his daily routine of feeding, watering, and walks will be a great way to build trust and a strong bond.

Zeke and another dog, Zoey, were unfortunately dumped at a kill shelter in North Carolina after being acquired by backyard breeders. Despite his rough start, we believe Zeke has the potential to be a wonderful, loving, and protective companion for the right person.
