Dustin

Dustin is a sweet, gentle giant who arrived at our shelter after his beloved owner passed away. At 10 years old, this 80-pound boy is understandably confused and a bit shut down by the sudden change in his life. He walks slowly, likely due to some arthritis, and could really benefit from a spa day and a good grooming to help him feel more comfortable. Dustin is currently housed in an outdoor kennel due to overcrowding, which is heartbreaking for a senior dog who has just experienced such a profound loss. He deserves to be in a warm, loving home.

Ideal Home

Dustin would likely thrive in a calm and quiet environment. We don't know how he is with children or cats, and we are not going to test him with cats at this time to avoid overwhelming him. He hasn't shown reactivity towards other dogs, but he may be scared. A calm, confident resident dog could help him feel more secure as he adjusts.

Ongoing Health

Dustin is showing signs of arthritis, which may contribute to his slower pace. He would benefit from regular grooming and a comfortable living situation.

Training & Support

Dustin is currently adjusting to a new and overwhelming environment. He needs patience, understanding, and a quiet place to decompress. A comfortable bed and a loving presence will go a long way in helping him settle in.
