About Leilani

Some dogs spend their lives learning that the world is safe. Leilani had to learn how to survive it. When she was just two weeks old, someone loaded her, her mother, and her siblings into a crate and attempted to set them on fire. They were nothing more than tiny babies, completely helpless and entirely dependent on the people around them for protection. Instead, they were shown unimaginable cruelty. But somehow, Leilani survived. She was rescued, loved, and given a second chance. At just eight weeks old, she was adopted into what we hoped would be her forever home. After everything she had endured before she was even old enough to understand it, we believed the hardest part of her story was finally behind her. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. Through no fault of her own, Leilani is now being returned.

It is impossible not to wonder what goes through the mind of a dog who has already experienced so much loss in such a short life. What we do know is that Leilani continues to love with her whole heart despite every reason not to. She is a fun-loving, deeply loyal girl who forms strong bonds with her people and loves them fiercely. Once you are hers, she will make it her mission to protect you, stay close to you, and be your constant companion.

Ideal Home

Leilani can be territorial over food and toys and would do best in a home with submissive dogs and no young children. She deserves a family willing to respect her boundaries and understand her past.

Ongoing Health

No ongoing health concerns mentioned.

Training & Support

Leilani can be territorial over food and toys. Her future family should be prepared to respect her boundaries and set her up for success.
