Athena

Athena is a sweet Shiba Inu girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She enjoys her walks and adventures, but she’s a little shy about putting on her harness. Once it’s on, she’s ready to explore the world with you! Athena adores other dogs and would love to have a gentle, playful canine friend to wrestle, cuddle, and lounge with in a fenced backyard. She’s house-trained, confidently uses a doggie door, and loves to check on her humans throughout the day. Athena is quiet for her breed (unless squirrels are involved!) and gentle with people, but she prefers to choose when she wants to interact. Once she’s comfortable with you, she’ll happily share space and offer soft pets and little finger licks. To keep her mind busy, provide her with fun toys and enrichment activities, or she might just create her own fun with “forbidden treasures.” Athena is looking for a dog buddy, patient humans, positive routines, and people who respect her space. In return, you’ll gain a sensitive, playful companion with a beautifully independent heart. Please research the Shiba Inu breed before applying.

Athena is located in Urbandale, Iowa. Rescue Rehab Rehome does not adopt animals outside the state of Iowa. They do not adopt unaltered animals to adopters living more than a 45-minute drive from the Des Moines, Iowa metropolitan area.
