Wally is an Australian Cattle dog mix who is about 1 year old and weighs 30lbs!

Potty Training Wally is very proud of his potty skills. He lets his foster know he needs to go out by giving a polite little nudge, and he’s also learning to ring the bell on the front door. He’s rung it three times so far—mostly for applause, because his routine is so consistent he rarely needs it. He has not had a single accident in his foster home. Gold star student.

Personality & Training Wally is an intelligent, energetic, loving young dog who soaks up training like a sponge. He listens beautifully when you use a firm voice, and he genuinely wants to do the right thing. He’s easy to walk on leash and enjoys his daily outings.

Dog Social Skills Wally gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He does the classic cattle‑dog “nipping at heels” move—nothing mean, just his way of saying “chase me!” So far, every dog has taken it in stride and joined the fun.

Young, Eager, and Ready to Learn Wally is still young, which means he’s ready to learn your routines, your rules, and your version of “good boy.” He adapts quickly and wants to be part of whatever his people are doing. With a family who enjoys training, playtime, and affection, he’s going to shine.

I love being alive. If it weren't for a truly kind young man who fostered me out of a very high kill shelter in Houston I might not be here to tell you about myself.

I'm a Cattle dog mix, but - and this is a little embarrassing to admit - I've never actually met cattle. Not even one cow. I make sure to look every time but they just don't seem to go to dog parks.

I'm about one year old and a perfectly sized not too big, not too small at 30lbs. I'm neutered, have all of my vaccinations and am heartworm negative. I'm very healthy and very smart and I listen to instructions. I'm also potty trained and haven't had one single accident inside. And guess what?? I'm learning how to ring a bell by the door when I need to go potty! My go to method is to give you a little nudge but how much more fun is ringing a bell?! (Exactly.)

ROAD TRIP WALLY:

Wally is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston.
