Ginger

Hi, my name is Ginger, and my foster parents call me "Gingi" or "Princess"! I'm a charming 4-year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua and Dachshund mix) weighing in at about 15 pounds. My foster mom says I'm perfect, and I tend to agree! I'm up-to-date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and I'm already kennel trained. I also have excellent house manners and learned to use the doggy door right away! While I appreciate my foster fur brothers, I'm more of a couch cuddler than a rough-and-tumble playmate. I enjoy leisurely walks and car rides, and I'm told I have perfect manners during them. I believe I would do well with cats and respectful children. My favorite treat is a boiled egg, though I'm not a big eater. I received my name from my lovely coloring and my happy, "gingerly" walk when I'm excited, which is most of the time! I also have a very sweet smile and am a total cuddle bug who loves to follow my people around the house. I even enjoy being brushed and don't mind grooming appointments.

I am heartworm positive, but my treatment has already begun and will continue with my new family.

Training & Support

I am kennel trained and have excellent house manners, including using a doggy door. I walk politely on a leash and enjoy car rides.
