About Ruby

Meet Ruby, a sweet and observant female Lab puppy born on January 22nd. Weighing in at 23-25 pounds and still growing, Ruby is part of an unplanned litter from loving Lab parents. She and her sisters, Jade and Josie, have been wonderfully socialized and are eager to bond with their forever families. While they're starting from scratch with the basics due to their initial circumstances, these puppies are full of potential and ready to learn.

Ideal Home

Ruby is a smart and sensitive pup who thrives on gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. She loves playing with toys and enjoys tug of war, especially with her doggy friends. While she can be a little timid on walks by herself, she loves going out with the pack. Ruby does experience some separation anxiety, which shows as crying or whining when she's not with her people. A home where her family is around a lot would be ideal, and she would do well with another adult dog and children. A safe and secure backyard is also a plus.

Ongoing Health

Ruby appears to be in good health. She will need to complete her DHPP booster in mid-July. After receiving her booster, she'll need to be quarantined at home for 1-2 weeks to protect her from parvo and other diseases. Lab Rescue will coordinate her future spay with her adopter.

Training & Support

Ruby is quickly learning foundational cues like "Let's go potty," "leave it," "Off," and "Come." She's a smart girl who wants to please and responds best to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. Her fosters have noticed her confidence growing, and she is learning how much fun life can be. Adopting Ruby means embracing the typical puppy package, which includes patience for crate training, potty training, potential messes, and some crying. Consistency, clear boundaries, and rewarding positive behavior will be key to her success.
