If happiness had four legs, giant ears, and a toy permanently in its mouth... it would be Sahara.

Meet Sahara, an adorable 6-month-old Chihuahua/Heeler mix (our best guess!) with the biggest ears, the happiest smile, and enough personality to brighten every room she walks into. Her warm caramel-and-white coat, speckled little legs, and constantly wagging tail make her just as cute on the outside as she is on the inside.

Sahara is the definition of a fun-loving puppy. If it squeaks, bounces, rolls, or can be tugged on, she's all in! She absolutely loves her toys and could spend hours happily entertaining herself, though she would be even happier if you joined in for a game of fetch or tug. She'll even play with cat toys if given the chance! She's always ready for the next adventure and approaches life with endless enthusiasm. Watch Sahara in action in her video!

She's also a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being around her people. Sahara is generous with kisses and loves soaking up attention, though she's still learning that not everyone wants an enthusiastic puppy greeting! She can get excited and jump up to say hello, but she's a smart, treat-motivated girl who is already learning her manners and will thrive with continued positive training.

Sahara enjoys going on walks and does well on leash, though she can pull a bit when she's excited to explore. Like any young puppy, she's still learning about the world. Around other dogs, she's playful but can be a little rambunctious and is still working on her doggy manners and boundaries. With patient guidance and continued socialization, she's sure to grow into a wonderful canine companion. She has not been tested with cats or children yet, but we'd be happy to help determine if she'd be a good fit for your family.

Sahara is a healthy puppy who has received all age-appropriate vetting including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Sahara is still learning her manners and will thrive with continued positive reinforcement training. She can get excited and jump up to say hello, and sometimes pulls on leash when excited. She is also working on her doggy manners and boundaries with other dogs.

Transporation

Sahara is located in Texas and can be transported to various locations nationwide through our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Drop off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
