Meet Romeo, a handsome 1-year-and-3-month-old Golden-Doodle mix who is as sweet as can be and ready to find his perfect forever home! Romeo weighs 48 lbs and recently came to us after being found neglected. He had to be shaved due to severe matting, but he's now thriving and showing his true, playful personality. When Romeo sees his humans, he gets so excited and shows his front teeth and smiles – it's absolutely hilarious and a sure sign of his joyful spirit! He is a young, energetic boy who would benefit from some additional basic training and requires an active family or a home with another dog to help him burn off his happy energy. While he is incredibly loving, he can be a bit timid around new people, so he'll need continued socialization and reassurance to help him feel confident.
Ideal Home
Romeo would do best in an active home with a family who can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He would also enjoy having another dog friend to play with. Because he can be timid around new people, a home with bigger kids would be ideal. We are unsure how he would do with cats or small animals. Potential adopters should be familiar with the grooming and energy needs of Doodle breeds, as they are high maintenance and high energy dogs that require structure to thrive.
Ongoing Health
Romeo is up to date on his vaccines and is scheduled to be neutered very soon. As a Doodle with long, curly hair, he requires professional grooming every 4-6 weeks, and adopters must be committed to this schedule.
Training & Support
Romeo walks perfectly on a leash, but he can be a bit jumpy once he's comfortable, often trying to hug you for affection. He appears to be housebroken, but his crate training status is currently unknown. He is a high-energy dog and would benefit from continued basic training and socialization.
