Sandy is the dog equivalent of that deep inhale and exhale after a long, hard day. She's gentle, thoughtful, and possesses a quiet company and peaceful presence that is incredibly grounding. While she might not be the loudest in a room full of dogs, once you connect with her, you'll find her calm and steady presence makes a home feel softer. Sandy takes her time to get to know new people and prefers not to be rushed into affection. She observes her surroundings and once she feels safe, she begins to choose you, becoming a loyal and heartwarming companion.

Ideal Home

Sandy would thrive in a home that values a slower pace and can allow her to grow in confidence without pressure. She enjoys a quieter, calmer lifestyle and settles in beautifully when given the chance to take things at her own pace. She is comfortable with cats and politely coexists with other dogs, though a calm dog companion is not a requirement.

Ongoing Health

Sandy is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. She has also been tested for heartworm and received treatment if needed.

Training & Support

Sandy is comfortable with leash walking and has received some initial training. She appreciates a gradual approach to bonding and building trust.

Transporation

Sandy is currently located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. We offer drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
