Smokey is a 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He currently weighs 60 pounds and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to find his forever family! Smokey is a super sweet boy that just wants love and attention! He is very smart and a quick learner. He's very submissive and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Smokey is a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day! He's a loyal, sweet companion who just wants to be part of a family. If you're looking for a dog who will happily curl up beside you and provide gentle companionship, Smokey is your guy!
Ideal Home
Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would also thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. Due to some separation anxiety, Smokey would be best suited for someone with a house and not an apartment. He would LOVE a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day.

Training & Support
Smokey walks great on a leash! He can be a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but is easily redirected. He does get excited in the beginning and will pull just slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly by your side once the excitement wears off. Smokey is fully potty trained. He is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in. Smokey does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and he does stop crying. He would do well in a home with a doggie companion as he loves playing with other dogs. He is very submissive during play with other dogs and loves playing chase.

Transporation
Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
