Blaze

Meet your new friend Blaze! Blaze is a goofy, affectionate, 8-year-old yellow lab mix who absolutely adores people. He's a big boy who would love a family to help him shed a few pounds. Wherever you are, he'll be right there with you!

Ideal Home

Blaze gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, but he's not a fan of cats or small animals and may try to chase them. We're unsure how he is with children as he hasn't been in foster homes with them. He's a smart cookie who can open backyard gates, so secure latches are a must!

Ongoing Health

Blaze has Cushing's disease and will require lifelong medication. Due to this, he is very food-motivated, so keep an eye on those snacks! He recently had his dental work done and was neutered. He is up-to-date on vaccines and will be microchipped before adoption. The rescue will cover the cost of his Cushing's medication for life, so you won't have to worry about that expense.

Training & Support

Blaze enjoys leisurely walks but needs to take breaks to catch his breath. He's learning to use his voice with a raspy bark but isn't overly vocal. He dislikes fireworks and finds comfort in your touch. Blaze tolerates baths with the help of treats and distractions but absolutely loves being brushed, often becoming jealous if others get attention!
