Ash is a very loving boy who has a lot of life and energy to share! He enjoys being with his human and is a wonderful companion. Ash does have some medical needs that require strict management throughout his life. He has an inoperable liver shunt, which means he must remain on a special prescription diet and medications. If he strays from this diet, toxins can build up in his body. Due to his liver shunt and other medical issues, Ash has some difficulty controlling his bowel and bladder. He can also exhibit medical-related behaviors; when protein levels are too high, he may become aggressive, usually towards other animals, and can be grouchy with people. It's possible these behaviors may increase as his liver shunt progresses. Ash also has a bit of a sleep challenge; he takes frequent naps but doesn't sleep for long stretches or through the night.
