Meet Tess, an adorable, high-energy little gal approximately 8 to 12 months old. At about 6 pounds, she has the spunk and spirit of a big puppy. She may be a Chihuahua, Chinese Crested, and Yorkie mix.

Tess loves playing with the other dogs at the rescue and has no fear, though she can be barky around larger dogs. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.

She is doing great with potty training and will use pee pads when necessary. Tess was found wandering the streets of Waterbury with dirty fur and mats, but she is now fully vetted and spayed.

Ongoing Health

Tess had pressure buildup in her left eye and is being treated with drops. A follow-up evaluation will be needed; the cause may be an eye injury, and glaucoma is a possibility, though the rescue does not believe that is likely.
