Meet Santana!
Santana is a spirited five-year-old American Pitbull Terrier with a beautiful blue fawn coat and bright, expressive eyes. He's a loving boy who lights up around people, often greeting them with adorable happy foot taps and a shower of kisses. Weighing around 65 pounds, he has a medium energy level, happy to engage in playful bursts before settling down for cozy companionship. His favorite game involves a small rubber tire, which he chases with joyful abandon. Santana knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay," comes when called, and enjoys car rides, always eager to be by your side. He is crate-trained and feels most comfortable relaxing in his crate when left alone, as he can be destructive and curious with food if given too much freedom.
Ideal Home
Santana would thrive in a loving home where he is the only dog, as he requires careful separation and management around other dogs, especially males. While selective with dogs, he is very good with people and affectionate, social, and gentle with both adults and children. A home without small animals is recommended due to his natural prey drive. A fenced yard will help him enjoy safe, happy playtime. He would do well with a family who understands large, strong companions and can provide structure, supervision, and consistency.
Ongoing Health
Santana is vaccinated and microchipped. He will need a broken upper canine tooth extracted and a small mole above his eye should be evaluated by a veterinarian. His adoption will require that he be neutered by his new family.
Training & Support
Santana communicates his discomfort with clear body language and benefits from positive reinforcement training to build calm, confident interactions. He can become destructive and curious with food if given too much freedom, especially if snacks are within reach, so it's important to manage his environment when unsupervised.
