Penelope

Welcome Penelope to RRR! She arrived at the end of March (with her brother Pablo)- pulled at the last second from a high kill shelter. Penelope is about 6 months old and 35 pounds of wiggly terrier/lab/hound mix with soft floppy ears.

Penelope is not yet fully housebroken, but is well on her way to it! She may need additional training in a new setting to figure out where to do her biz... She is also a little anxious in the crate and prefers to be with her people instead of being left alone. On leash, she is figuring out how to walk along side her foster and is doing her best to not get overly excited about the world around her. For meal times. she currently has kibbles available for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, she gets wet food or home-cooked food along with some more kibble. This girl is a chewer, so chew toys are best for her! She also enjoys stuffies, balls, and other teething pup toys.

With socialization, she is a little shy at first, but will warm up quickly given the time and patience she needs to feel safe. Something super cute that her foster shared is that, when she's being sassy and talking back, she will wrinkle up her little nose! So precious! When the foster family is hanging around at home, she seeks cuddles, takes naps, and enjoys playing with her humans.

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Penelope is not yet spayed, but is UTD on vaccinations. The good news is that because we are a licensed, registered 501(c)3 rescue with the state of NJ, she is eligible to be spayed for just $20 with proof of adoption (adoption contract) through the NJ Low Cost Spay/Neuter Grant Program. It's super-easy, just present our contract at a participating vet and make the neuter appt! Our local vet participates, and you may just find yours does too!</span>
