Sandy

Sandy is a sweet Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a resilient spirit! She came to us after being found abandoned and injured, having suffered a broken pelvis in three places. Despite her difficult start, Sandy is a playful girl who loves her toys and is friendly once she gets to know you. She's been through crate rest and pain medication, and has since been spayed. She is currently awaiting heartworm treatment and will be ready for her forever home soon after.

Ideal Home

Sandy would thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can continue to build her trust. She would do best as the only dog in the household to receive all the attention. Unfortunately, Sandy does not do well around children and shows signs of past abuse, so a home without them is essential.

Ongoing Health

Sandy is recovering from a broken pelvis and will be undergoing heartworm treatment. She has been spayed and is up to date on routine vaccinations.

Training & Support

Sandy is slowly learning to trust people again due to past experiences. She will need a patient and understanding adopter to help her continue to feel safe and loved.

• All adoptable animals are up to date on routine vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
• If an animal is too young for spay/neuter, a certificate is included in the adoption fee.

Transportation

Sandy is located at 5820 Richmond Rd, Texarkana, TX. Arrangements can be made to meet her at our adoption center on Saturdays between 10 am - 3 pm. Transport options may be available; please inquire for details.
