Tony

Tony is a 4-year-old Spaniel/Great Pyrenees mix who weighs 62 pounds and is an expert at hiding. He's shy and timid, finding the outside world a bit too loud, but his curiosity often gets the better of him, leading him to cautiously peek out before retreating to his safe space. As a COVID puppy, Tony didn't receive much socialization, making people, dogs, and cats somewhat of a mystery to him. He's learning, however, and will often sniff a dog before looking back at his person as if to ask, "Who is this bold interloper, and why are they in my space?" A calm, mellow dog companion might be a good fit for him, but highly energetic dogs are not recommended. Cats tend to scare him, but he reacts with full retreat rather than any predatory behavior.

Ideal Home

Tony is seeking a quiet home with a fenced yard where he can feel secure as he learns that the world isn't as intimidating as it seems. He would do best with teenagers and older, as younger children's unpredictability can be unsettling for him. His ultimate dream is to have a sofa to snuggle on next to his people, enjoying pets and snacks.
