Duque is a handsome 4-year-old English Shepherd mix with a striking black and white coat and long, thick fur. Weighing in at about 42 lbs, he's a wonderfully friendly and loving companion who adapts quickly to new people and environments. Duque is already potty trained and leash trained, making him a joy to have around. He absolutely adores receiving pets and cherishes his time with his human family. Daily walks and active play are high on his list of favorite things! Duque is a well-balanced boy looking for a home where he can continue to receive plenty of affection and companionship.
Ideal Home
Duque would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He needs a home with people who have a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of street animals, including their potential need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, or a commitment to hiring a trainer, is also important.
Ongoing Health
Duque has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and received his 4DX test. He is up-to-date on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Nexgard Spectra and has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
While Duque is potty and leash trained, it's important to understand that many rescued dogs require an adjustment period. Duque may have fears or anxieties due to past experiences, and patience and understanding are crucial for him to build trust and a strong bond. He is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. A willingness to work with a trainer is recommended to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential.

Transportation
Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery, organizing 3-4 trips per year. Our contracted transport company will pick up adopted pets in Mexico and escort them across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group. The transport fee is $400 USD.
