Wavy was an owner surrender to the New York Animal Care Centers. His owners didn't like his nippy behavior when he was a puppy, so they discarded him. He was nervous and frightened at the shelter but was a perfect gentleman with everyone he met. A wonderful foster stepped up to save his life, and now he is looking for his forever home.
Wavy is a 45 lb Husky mix, approximately 1 year old, and is neutered. He is an adventure partner with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He bonds fast with people and wants to be part of whatever you are doing. Wavy is the perfect mix of "let's go do something" and "I am good to chill." He loves walks, rides great in the car, and is always ready for an outing. In a fenced yard, he lets loose with zoomies and patrol duty. Indoors, he settles well and understands downtime when things are structured. He is very quiet overall and not a big barker, but he will get chatty when he wants something.
Ideal Home
Wavy needs an active, experienced home that can match his energy and provide leadership and structure. He is best with an active family and can get a little jumpy when excited, but it's all enthusiasm. He does best when life has structure, clear boundaries, and daily outlets for both his brain and body. An ideal home would ideally have a fenced yard.

Training & Support
Wavy is house-trained and crate-trained, and he does great living with both dogs and cats when there is routine and guidance. Because he is young and still learning impulse control, he will need someone patient who will keep working on basics with him. When he gets excited, he can be a bit jumpy or mouthy, but he responds well to training and food motivation. He just needs consistency and someone willing to keep reinforcing boundaries. He has a strong prey drive and will pull if he spots wildlife.
