Zac is a handsome 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He was rescued from a county shelter after being found as a nervous boy. Shortly after rescue, it was discovered Zac needed FHO surgery due to a previous, untreated injury. This surgery is much like removing a damaged part of a door hinge so the surrounding parts can take over the movement. Zac has healed wonderfully from his surgery and requires no further medical intervention or medication.
Zac is the epitome of a loyal companion, offering a perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed cuddles. He enjoys spending time with other dogs, happily joining in for play before settling down for some quality time with his people. He has been exposed to dogs of all sizes in his foster home and gets along beautifully with them, showing great respect and excellent canine manners. On walks, Zac remains calm and doesn't react to other dogs, making him an easygoing companion for outings.
Ideal Home
Zac thrives on companionship and wants to be near his people. He would do best in a home where he isn't left alone for long periods. He also seems happiest with another dog around to share his life with. Zac is house-trained and crate-trained, happily entering his crate with a treat. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family committed to teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. His foster notes that he may need continued guidance on not jumping up when excited. He loves treats and toys and has shown no signs of resource guarding.
