About GEORGE - Needs a Foster/Forever Home

George is an easygoing, gentle, polite, sweet boy who loves being with people and is great on a leash! He was originally found when he was 1-year-old and was listed on Craigslist looking to trade him for drugs and paraphernalia. The person was selling George as a watchdog and keeping him outside on a chain. One of our volunteers saw the ad and saved him, and George joined Make A Difference Rescue. He was extremely afraid of everything, even being touched. Our shelter staff/volunteers worked with George, and the transformation was amazing! He was adopted, but then he was returned to us and is waiting for the next chapter of his life. He continues to be socialized and goofy, and enjoys being petted. He loves bones filled with peanut butter, lots of treats, and Nylabones. He especially loves playing with the water coming out of the hose! George is good with other dogs after a proper introduction.

Ideal Home

George needs a family or person who is used to big dogs or small horses (he's a little smaller than a regular-size Great Dane, but he's still a big boy). He must have a totally enclosed, physically fenced yard where he can safely run and play. Children 16 years old or older. NO SMALL DOGS.

Ongoing Health

George is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and on a monthly heartworm preventative.

George is located in Birmingham, MI. We require adopters to live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI. No out-of-state or outside the U.S. adoptions or fosters.
