Toffee — She Will Outsmart You, Outlast You on the Fetch Field, and Then Steal Your Spot on the Couch
Do not let the cuddle energy fool you. Toffee is sharp. Wickedly, impressively sharp — the kind of dog who watches you figure out what you are about to teach her and has already learned it before you finish the sentence. At ninety pounds of Rottweiler, that brain comes in a package that commands attention, and she knows it. She is not arrogant about it. She is just confident, and there is a difference.
When she is not busy being the smartest dog in the room, Toffee is committed to two things: fetch and physical contact. The fetch is serious business — tug too, if you are up for it. She will play until you quit and then give you a look that suggests you are the one who needs more conditioning. And then the second the energy winds down, she is on the couch, against your leg, leaning into whoever is closest with her full ninety pound conviction. There is no in between with Toffee. She is either all the way on or all the way in your personal space, and both are equally genuine.
She is housetrained, crate trained, and has her commands down solidly — plus a few extras. She is the kind of dog that experienced owners immediately know what to do with, which is exactly why her adopter needs to be one of them. Rottweiler or large working breed experience is a must here, not as a barrier but as a foundation. Toffee is not complicated, but she is substantial, and she deserves someone who understands the difference.
Ideal Home
Toffee needs a home without children and without cats.
Ongoing Health
Right now Toffee is managing some hip and lower back pain, with imaging scheduled this month to get a clear picture of what is going on. Because of that discomfort she can be sensitive at times and needs gentle, patient handling and a calm home environment while she heals. She is not asking for much — mostly just for people to meet her where she is right now rather than where she might be on her best day.
Training & Support
She is dog friendly but resource guards around food, so mealtime management is part of the deal and should be handled thoughtfully.
