Baloo is an approximately 5-year-old, 33 lb male Bull Terrier mix with a sweet, gentle, and loving soul. He has waited a long time in a shelter, always hopeful for the right family. Baloo is affectionate and thrives on human companionship. While he may be a little shy at first, he quickly warms up and seeks out pets, cuddles, and attention. He loves visitors and enjoys playing, happiest when surrounded by kindness.
Ideal Home
Baloo gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women. He is not aggressive and rarely reacts defensively even when bothered by other dogs. He is respectful at mealtime and doesn't rush other dogs' food. He is house-trained for the yard and can hold it indoors. He knows how to use a crate but becomes distressed when confined, so a home where crating isn't necessary would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Baloo is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He has a spay/neuter certificate and a health certificate.
Training & Support
Baloo is not yet leash-trained and becomes nervous during car rides, requiring transport in a carrier. With patience, time, and gentle training, he has great potential to improve in both areas as he is smart and eager to please. He is terrified of fireworks and may chew on toys or other safe items to relieve stress or boredom. He can be vocal when hungry but is otherwise joyful, playful, and funny. It's important to remember that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties from past experiences and need time to adjust. Patience, a safe and loving environment, and a consistent routine will help build trust and a strong bond.

Transportation
Baloo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transportation fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery from Mexico to your home. This fee includes scheduled trips (3-4 per year), transport by a contracted company, comprehensive legal and health documentation, and real-time updates during the journey.
