Maya is a fun-loving, affectionate girl who is ready to find a family that can keep up with her adventurous spirit! Her previous owner describes her as a wild child as she has a knack for escaping. She will door dart whenever given the opportunity, can climb a 6-foot fence, and has even learned how to open doors and gates. Because of this, she will need a very secure home, diligent supervision around exits, and a family committed to practicing leash skills and recall. She is potty trained, comfortable relaxing in her crate, and has lived with another dog and a cat, but proper slow intros will be important. She can also be fearful of loud noises and sudden movements, so patience and positive reinforcement will help her build confidence. She would thrive best in a mature home that can focus on her training and management needs.
