Meet Clifford – a giant-hearted Lab mix who's equal parts cuddle bug, loyal companion, and goofy best friend. Clifford absolutely adores his people. His favorite place in the world is curled up beside you on the couch or stretched across the bed, soaking up belly rubs and quietly gazing at you with those soulful eyes. He'll even gently paw at you when he's ready for more affection. This handsome boy has wonderful house manners and thrives on routine and connection. In foster care, Clifford has made incredible progress learning to feel safe and secure in a home environment. With consistency, structure, and patience, he's become much more comfortable settling when left alone and has been working hard on building confidence and independence. Clifford's foster reports that he is fully house-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, walks beautifully on leash, loves food and takes medications easily, bonds deeply with his humans, and plays well with compatible dog friends. Clifford especially enjoys having a calm canine companion around and has developed a sweet bond with his foster sibling, enjoying daily play sessions and companionship. He would likely do best with another medium-to-large, easygoing dog who won't compete heavily for attention. Because Clifford loves deeply and feels things deeply, he's looking for a home that can continue helping him feel safe and understood. He can be sensitive to change and may need time to settle into a new environment, especially with unfamiliar visitors or routines. Predictability, patience, and positive reinforcement have helped him make huge strides already.
Ideal Home
Clifford's ideal home would be an adult-only household, a ground-floor home with a grassy yard, and ideally with someone home often or working remotely. He would thrive in a calm, structured environment with minimal chaos and possibly another calm, larger dog companion.
Ongoing Health
Clifford is currently recovering from a leg injury and will need surgery on his paw. Shorter strolls and comfy lounging are much more his style right now.
Training & Support
Clifford is not the kind of dog who will thrive in a busy or unpredictable environment. In the right home, with people who appreciate sensitive dogs and the beauty of earning their trust, he has so much love to give. Beneath his size is a soft, affectionate soul who simply wants safety, companionship, and a family to call his own.
