Meet Daffodil – She Needs a Miracle
Daffodil isn’t just another rescue, she’s family. She was bottle-fed when she was only days old, fighting to survive. She has beaten the odds, survived a blood transfusion, and grown into a strong, loyal, absolutely stunning girl. She once had a home, but a year later, she was returned, physically weakened from a severe UTI and emotionally different. She came back more guarded and unsure, and without the right guidance, those warning signs turned into resource guarding and selective trust. But please don’t mistake her behavior for aggression. Daffodil is not a bad dog, she is a misunderstood one. She has since worked with a professional behaviorist and completed training, proving what we always knew: with structure, patience, and consistency, she thrives. Daffodil is a 2-year-old, 80+ lb, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative girl. She is missing one eye, which she was born with. She is in the beginning stages of kidney failure and takes daily medication with prescription food. She is also potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Daffodil is loyal, affectionate, and incredibly smart.
Ideal Home
Daffodil would do best in a pet-free, child-free home. Teens may be considered if they have experience with dogs. She needs a confident, structured adult or couple with large breed experience who can provide daily exercise, enrichment, and boundaries. Someone who understands she just needs patience, leadership, and consistency is key.
Ongoing Health
Daffodil is in the beginning stages of kidney failure and requires daily medication and a prescription diet. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She was born missing one eye.
Training & Support
Daffodil has been working with a professional behaviorist and has completed training. She has some resource guarding tendencies and can be temperamental around food time. She has been described as rowdy in group play. Patience, leadership, and consistency are essential for her success.
