Mikey

Meet Mikey, a 3.5-year-old, 52-pound Chocolate Lab Mix who is affectionate, loyal, smart, and ready for a forever home. After losing his previous home due to circumstances beyond his control, Mikey is thriving in foster care and has shown himself to be a loving, well-mannered companion.

Ideal Home

Mikey would enjoy regular walks, adventures, affection, and quiet evenings with his people. He is wonderful with smaller dogs, plays gently, and respects their boundaries. He is more apprehensive around larger dogs, so thoughtful introductions and a compatible match are important. A friendly, confident smaller canine companion may be a great fit. His behavior around cats and children is not specified.

Mikey may bark briefly when meeting someone new, but once he realizes they are safe, his affectionate personality shines through.

Ongoing Health

Mikey is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is heartworm positive, and treatment has begun; the rescue will cover his treatment.

Training & Support

Mikey is fully house trained, has excellent house manners, and has had no accidents in his foster home. He is non-destructive, can be trusted when left alone, and has shown no separation anxiety in foster care. He walks nicely on leash, does not dart through doors, and knows sit, stay, lay down, off, and no jumping. He is food motivated and eager to learn, and he enjoys relaxing on the couch while his people are away.
