Meet Sky! This sweet 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Red Heeler mix, weighing around 60 pounds, is a gentle, calm, and incredibly loyal companion. Sky walks beautifully on a leash, is submissive, and truly enjoys just being by your side. She's already leash trained, crate trained, and fully house trained, making her an easy and wonderful addition to a loving home. One of Sky's most impressive qualities is her calm demeanor around other animals; she doesn't react to cats or squirrels on walks, making her a pleasure to take anywhere. Sky can be a little shy around new people, but with a little time and reassurance, her sweet and affectionate nature shines through. She was rescued from the streets of Houston, TX, with her siblings after being abandoned as puppies. Thanks to her rescue, she's learned to feel loved and secure, and now she's ready to find a forever family that will offer her the stable, patient, and loving home she deserves. If you're searching for a faithful companion to share life's quiet moments with, Sky might be your perfect match!
Ideal Home
We are looking for families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a home with a fenced backyard. Potential adopters should have an open mind and understanding regarding the behaviors of rescued street animals and their need for protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued animals.
Ongoing Health
Sky has completed her spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She has also received a negative heartworm test certificate and a health certificate. Her vaccination booklet is up-to-date.
Training & Support
While Sky is house-trained, it is important to note that many rescued pets may require ongoing support and patience as they adjust. The rescue organization invests significant effort into rehabilitating these animals and may not be able to house-train every single one before adoption. Adopters are expected to continue this support.
