Dustin

Dustin is a shy but curious Yorkie mix with a low-medium energy level. He's about 15 lbs and was born around January 2, 2025. Dustin came to us from a hoarding situation, which means he's still learning how to be comfortable around people and in a home environment. He enjoys following his favorite humans around and is motivated by treats, even performing tricks! However, he's not a big fan of being touched unless he initiates it and may never be a lap dog or one who enjoys car rides or walks. Dustin needs a patient family who understands his need for personal space and can provide a safe haven for him to continue blossoming.

Ideal Home

Dustin would thrive in a calm home with another dog who can show him the ropes. He is not suited for apartment living and requires a securely fenced yard.

Ongoing Health

Dustin has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Dustin is undersocialized due to his past and will need ongoing patience and understanding to help him gain confidence. He may never be a dog who enjoys extensive physical contact, and adopters should be prepared for this. As with any pet, adopters should assume he will need some potty training and house manners reinforcement.

Transporation

Dustin is located at our shelter in Warren, Michigan. Transport may be available to approved adopters within a certain radius.
