Scout is a sweet, playful, and affectionate male Rat Terrier, approximately 3–4 years old and weighing around 14 lbs. He's a dog full of personality who loves to run, play, and cuddle with his people. Scout is very sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women, making him an easy fit for many families. He was rescued after being attacked by larger dogs, but thankfully only sustained minor scratches. Despite his scary experience, Scout showed incredible resilience and a loving spirit, and he's now safe, healthy, and ready for a new chapter.
Ideal Home
Scout would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a home with a fenced backyard. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a willingness to provide the protection and education a rescued animal needs. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Scout has been neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. He is up-to-date on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. All health records and a health certificate are available.
Training & Support
Scout is not house-trained. Potential adopters should understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and will require patience, understanding, and a consistent routine to build trust and adapt to a new environment.

Transporation
Scout is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Transport is handled through a contracted company with scheduled trips 3-4 times a year. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
