Finnigan is a 4-year-old, 45 lb mini golden mix with a heart as big as his body! He's a devoted companion eager to find a person to love him as much as he'll love them. Finnigan is the perfect partner for country living – he stays close, has excellent recall, and will happily join you for chores like stacking wood, cutting trails, or gardening. Your "Finnpanion" awaits!
Finnigan came from a tough past, having been a tied lawn ornament. Despite this, he's adapted wonderfully in his foster home with other northern dogs and is thriving with the affection he's finally receiving. He has good dog skills and enjoys the company of his foster siblings. While his initial introductions to new dogs can be a bit enthusiastic, he quickly settles in and is happy to include them in his playgroup. When off-leash, he loves playing with other dogs but his priority is always his person, checking back frequently. He'll even give loving licks or gentle hand nibbles on walks and his recall is phenomenal – he'll stop on a dime, even mid-run, to respond to his name.
He is house-trained and crate-trained, though he no longer needs his crate. Finnigan is quiet indoors and completely ignores the cats in his foster home. He's also a great watchdog, barking to alert you when someone arrives. Leash walking is still a work in progress, but since his ideal home is in the country, this is something he likely won't need to do much of.
Finnigan is a medium-sized cuddle bug who brings immense joy to his inner circle. Like all of us, he has his quirks, such as still building trust with his foster dad. He can be a bit wary of men initially, though sometimes he's immediately drawn to them – it seems to depend on the energy he picks up on. He adores women and will likely consider older children good friends.
This dependable boy is the best sidekick in the world! He's so trustworthy outdoors that a fence isn't necessary, and he won't wander far, always ensuring he doesn't miss a moment with you. He'd love a canine sibling to play with but doesn't need another dog to rely on – just a friend. While dog companionship is nice for speaking "dog," his person is ultimately his heart.
Finnigan is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and vaccinated (DAPP and rabies).
