Scooby

My name is Scooby, and I'm a handsome retriever mix with a face that hints at some shepherd charm. I was born on September 9, 2023, and originally came from St. Croix USVI. My first family loved me dearly, but a new baby with allergies meant I needed a new place to call home. Thankfully, the wonderful people at Pet Search stepped in to help me. I'm neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for 4DX, and am microchipped. While I might be a little shy when meeting new people and prefer to hang back at first, once I feel safe and comfortable, I transform into a loving and snuggly companion. Patience is key as I get to know you! I'm already housebroken and crate trained, and I'm a big fan of lounging on my own comfy bed. I also get along well with other dogs and don't react to cats. You might hear a happy bark when I see other dogs – it's just my way of saying hello! I do tend to whine a bit when I want attention or need to go outside, which always brings a smile to my foster mom's face. She's been incredibly patient with me, and I respond wonderfully to her. I'm still a bit hesitant around my foster dad, but I'm making great progress!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a calm and quiet home where I can take my time to decompress and adjust to my new surroundings. A patient family is exactly what I need to blossom.

Ongoing Health

I'm up-to-date on all my vaccinations and have been tested negative for 4DX. I'm also neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

I'm housebroken and crate trained. While I'm learning to trust my foster dad, I respond very well to positive reinforcement and patience. My occasional whining when I want something or need to go out is something you'll get used to!
