Meet Simba!
Simba is a goofy eight-year-old Boxer with a handsome brown brindle coat and white accents. He approaches life with joyful curiosity, always ready to explore his surroundings. Simba is wonderfully food-motivated, making mealtime and training a breeze. He's looking for a loving new home after his devoted pet parent passed away.
Despite his 97-pound frame, Simba believes he's a lap dog and loves to lean in for cuddles. He's content sleeping alone, enjoys chew toys, and gets excited for walks and car rides! Simba is very friendly with other dogs and has lived harmoniously with his canine companion, Sophie. While he hasn't lived with cats, his social nature suggests he might be open to befriending them with a gentle introduction. He's affectionate and patient with children, but his playful energy might be a bit much for very young kids, so supervision is recommended. Simba can be a little timid in new situations and may need a moment to warm up to new people, but once comfortable, his sweet personality shines through.
Ideal Home
Simba thrives in a calm, confident home where his family understands and appreciates the charm of a Boxer, including their slobbery kisses and desire for closeness. A household where someone is often present for companionship and cuddles would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Simba has a sensitive tummy and benefits from a routine of smaller, more frequent meals. He occasionally requires a special diet. He has received care for hip discomfort after overexertion and has a few harmless skin bumps.
Training & Support
Simba is food-motivated, which is a great asset for positive reinforcement and learning. His enthusiasm can be bouncy, so guidance and supervision are helpful, especially with smaller children.
