Huey Loves Hugs

Huey is a handsome, athletic, and personable boy who estimates to be around 2 years old. He's a mid-size dog, weighing in at 56 lbs, with expressive ears that catch every sound. Huey has been living in a foster home, where he's learned valuable skills to prepare him for his forever family. He's incredibly smart, motivated, and responds well to confident leadership. Huey excels with boundaries and is already crate-trained, house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. He enjoys being a quiet shadow to his people, always wanting to be close without intruding. Huey is also a good car rider and enjoys a good breeze!

Ideal Home

Huey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. Apartment living is not a good fit for him, as he needs outdoor space and is still working on his leash skills in busy environments. While he has enjoyed living with children and other dogs in the past, long-term cohabitation with children is not ideal for him. He prefers a calm and peaceful environment.

Ongoing Health

Huey has no specific health conditions mentioned, and his adoption fee includes comprehensive vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter surgery, and preventative medications.

Training & Support

Huey thrives with boundaries and structure. He is house-trained and crate-trained. He does exhibit resource guarding around food when other dogs are present. This is easily managed by feeding him and other dogs separately, ideally in their crates. A home with no other dogs would eliminate this concern.
