Potato (20260430-01) is a handsome, approximately 80lb, 2.5-year-old male Husky/Lab/Northern mix with a beautiful white coat. He was found roaming the streets of Moosonee and is now ready to find his forever family. Potato is a social and incredibly friendly dog with a medium energy level. He's a real "yes" man, getting along wonderfully with kids and adults, and is good with other dogs. While he hasn't been tested with cats, his sweet disposition suggests he might do well with them. He's house and crate trained, though he may need a short refresher course as he adjusts to a new home. Potato is a dream on walks, only exhibiting a slight pull that is easily managed with a harness, and he shows no reactivity to people or other dogs. He is not destructive, not a big barker, and is not food aggressive.
Ideal Home
Potato would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore and play. He would be happy as a solo dog but would also benefit from having a canine companion. Due to his size and breed mix, he is not suited for apartment living.
Ongoing Health
Potato is currently being treated for Red Mange (Demodex), which is not contagious to humans or other pets. He requires medication and some extra TLC to help his coat recover.
Training & Support
Potato is house and crate trained, but may need a brief adjustment period in a new environment. He is a fast learner and will do well with a consistent routine.
